Last Friday was Relay for Life, a event that I am usually very involved in, this year was no exception, I was on the legislation committee.
As the night progressed I tried to get in running time where possible. At one point I overheard people saying that they were going to try to keep pace with the ‘runner’ and didn’t think much of it, didn’t look to see who else was running. Slowly I noticed other people would be running in close proximity to me when I would manage to squeeze in a lap or two… I wasn’t going fast – just at a nice pace for me.
Later that night I was approached by someone saying that it was nice to run with a ‘real runner’. That was weird. I have never considered myself a runner. More a person who wants to run. My pace is not fast, my pace is comfortable for me. I guess in some eyes this makes me a ‘real runner’.

That's because you are a runner! You've been running 3 times a week for 6 months now, I think you've earned the right to call yourself a runner don't you?
