Sorry for the extended hiatus but I took a little vacation. I don't tell people ahead of time if I will be gone (a bit paranoid like that). When I flew back to Oklahoma Green Country was getting pounded by some particularly strong storms. I got some photos on my run last night. These photos were taken between 71st and 61st on the River Trails.
I also have some news from my trip. I experienced my very first ever asthma attack. I was busily checking the weather while waiting to catch a connecting flight to OK trying to learn if I would be heading directly into a super cell. The status boards in Ohare were not working properly so I was killing time on my trusty crakberry. I then noticed that my flight should be boarding so I double checked with the counter to confirm that I was still waiting at the correct gate. Guess what. I wasn't. My gate had been switched to the other end of Ohare. Whats more I had 3 minutes to get to that gate before the flight left. To say I was running as hard as I could would be a understatement. I was dashing down the concourse in flip flops carrying my luggage (I did not check anything). I made it just as they were latching the door. Jumped on and immediately had my first asthma attack. Lesson learned - warm up before you run THAT hard. Also 6 months ago there is NO WAY I could have caught that flight. At all.
Last Saturdays Run presented a rare treat. I had the pleasure to run with Sister Mary-Beth Lloyd who is traveling and running with Lisa Smith Batchen as part of a fund raising effort, Running Hope Through America. Our graduated couch group ran 4 miles and caught up with Sister Mary-Beth at our turn around. What an amazing thing Lisa and Sister and their crew are doing. www.runhope.com/project.html
