Why?

In the past ten years I have been up (240) and down (135) the scale time and again. This time I am on the 'up' side of the scale. I want to loose the weight. I figure the humiliation of putting this on the internet and the friends that I have told of this to hold me accountable just might make this happen. It is going to take a lot of encouragement and support. Not to mention the hard work on my part. Follow my struggle here.

*sigh*

So after what 2 months almost 3 months of this Zumba stuff I am still not seeing the scale go down. Grr

On the positive side my clothes are fitting looser (particularly my pants). I feel like my abs are getting stronger and more able to 'help' me look skinny. ;-)

This is helping me to keep at it by believing eventually my body will say something like "oh alright I cant out stubborn you and now I will let go of some of this nasty extra weight". I am guessing I will never hear those words - but you know.

Today I decided to amp things up another scoatch.. a little prodding to my body. Today I went into Zumba armed with a waist trimmer belt.

I have had it for years and figured why not? Off and on as I was trying to tone my abs I have employed it. It does drastically increase sweating - this much is true. By keeping my muscles warm my back does not ache as badly but to tell the truth this is the only difference I have noticed.

So far as Zumba goes things are moving along nicely. I am getting less worn out which means I can amp up the movements to burn more calories. But still that damn scale needle just is not moving.

I am going to keep with this. I just have to out suborn my body... Let me tell you a war of the wills with yourself is no fun.

Don't focus on the scale. It's all about how you feel. Keep up the good work!

I agree.. Don't focus on the scale. You are obviously seeing some improvement of your fitness, and that's what it's about. When the needle does move in the right direction, you can consider it a happy bonus!
